A Brief History of Sports Medicine in the US

Sports have been around for thousands of years and so has the practice of sports medicine, a branch of medicine focusing on the prevention and treatment of injuries related to exercise and sports. Though many professional sports teams have had physicians on staff for years, sport and exercise medicine did not become a distinct segment of health care until the late twentieth century. However, it has been practiced in some manner since early civilization.

The Beginnings of Sports Medicine

The Atharva-Veda method practiced by the Hindus is the first recorded use of exercise for treatment of an athletic injury. The Chinese book of Kung Fu, created in approximately 1000 BC, also mentions physical fitness treatment. It was not until the fifth century BC that we saw mention of therapeutic exercise in the western world. The practice was associated with Herodicus, believed to be a teacher of Hippocrates, who is considered the Father of Medicine. Hippocrates himself also recommended exercise to treat disease.

The Practice Becomes a Fixture

Trainers, who also served as coaches, became fixtures by the fifth century BC. The first athletic training textbook was written in approximately 444 BC by Iccus of Tarentum, himself a former Pentathlon champion. The Romans continued this practice, releasing several training manuals over the next 700 years. Milo of Croton was arguably one of the most famous trainers of the time and the first recorded progressive resistance exercise, lifting a bull on the day it was born, is attributed to him.

Rivalries between trainers and doctors relegated physicians to a treatment role until the second century AD, when the role of team physician was first noted. Pontifex Maximus appointed Claudius Galen of Pergamum and Rome as physician for the gladiators in Pergamum. Claudius published his treatments and findings and went on to become physician for the famous emperor Marcus Aurelius. When the Roman Empire fell, additional learning was restricted in the western world. The Byzantine Empire and Islamic culture preserved the heritage for many years.

Dr. Edward Hitchcock brought sports medicine to America when he became the first physical education and hygiene instructor at Amherst College in 1854. He is considered the first sports medical physician and team physician in the United States. Other early practitioners included Drs. Edward Nichols, Mal Stevens, and Augustus Thorndike, who published the first general text of the practice in this country. Today, physicians utilize chiropractic and other advanced treatments for health care of physical activity.

Use an Odds Checker to Track Line Movement in Sports Betting

Each sports matchup that is placed on the board for a sports gambler is an opportunity to make a profit. The line on the particular contest serves as a reference point to see how the public feels about who will win. Serious punters know the significance that line movements can have on their long term profitability as well as the outcome of games. Knowing this, sportsbooks hire linesmakers and oddsmakers are hired to balance lines as a result of changes that occur when bettors begin to place capital on games.

Still, educated sports bettors can gain an edge with certain “soft” lines if they notice significant movements prior to the beginning of a game. Likewise, if their research, or a recent injury indicates that a particular line is off, bettors can grab an early line before the more investors catch wind of the discrepancy. This is how many successful sports bettors make a long term profit betting NFL or betting the NBA spread, among others.

The Difficulty of Handicapping

Oddsmakers are much more concerned with verifying all games on the given day and trying to create lines that will get equal attention and money on either side of the contest. You can imagine that with so many games, this can become a large and difficult task. Obviously, incorrect lines and line errors end up costing millions to sportsbook if they are not caught quickly enough. This danger is one of the reasons why linesmaking remains one of the most difficult industries to succeed in in the world. Still, sportsbooks have a history of being profitable year over year. There are however some tools that wagerers can use to increase their chances of being successful over time.

Just like stock market patterns, movements of a sports line are not easy to follow for several reasons. Some odds comparison sites take their opening lines from the same origin, while others create their own. Most of the time though, oddsmakers use a service that creates opening lines as their full-time business. Of course, in different countries and sports, different odds companies are used to create the odds. As a bettor, it is advantageous to get your hands on information online where they post the opening lines and the real-time line changes for games covering a variety of sports. It makes sense to track the line of a team throughout the week if possible to see how many points the spread moves as more volume comes in on each contest.

Public Betting Percentages

One of the first rules of sports betting is that the public loses about 2 of 3 times. The average bettor has a losing record, so when there is significant movement on a line, this rule can give sharp bettors information into which side the public is on. If the public goes hard on a line and make the favorite even more of a favorite, a linesmaker may make an adjustment to get the bet back to equilibrium. These patterns are normally quite conspicuous. Online websites that track these movements and explain the basics behind spotting line changes are the best way to glean critical information out of these circumstances.

Tracking Line Movement

Line movements are evaluated in various ways. The most important thing to remember is that movements are always representing money backing a particular side. A punter can interpret this in different ways by thinking that a dropping line means that the public is betting them. This scenario could also mean that smart bettors are seeing value in the favorite side. It is called a fade when you bet a team simply because the favorite is betting the favorite more than they deserve to be wagered on.

The second theory is that the sharp money is aware of the value in a matchup and moving the line themselves. If you are able to correctly notice this pattern, then you can jump on the correct side and make a profit. The term “steam” originates from this scenario where a bettor recognizes smart bettors gathering on one side. When a line is steaming it means that it is moving quickly in a particular direction. Making a late play like this can …

Zermatt, the Eternal Alpine Snow, and a Peek at Switzerland

Mont Blanc stands proud as the highest Alp. Yet one of the most photographically reproduced is Matterhorn with the village of Zermatt at its feet.

When I first saw Matterhorn from the ground up, I felt as if I was looking at a solidified ardent flame. A native who saw me look at it with awe said: “You can climb it,” as if it were nothing. I laughed…not at him but at me. I wouldn’t dare think of trying that.

In Zermatt, as well as other places, locals show off their skill by the number of times they have climbed the Matterhorn; although, many fall numerous times. A local had climbed it more than 300 times. His wife shrugged: “Useless to say how many times,” she said. “The mountain is going nowhere. It stays there and only the workless (also meaning worthless) do the climbing.”

There are no cars in Zermatt. Transportation is possible by using the cog train and horse-drawn sleighs. Sitting in a horse drawn sleigh with a lap robe, which is a folded small blanket, with an eternal snow around is one of the most romantic things.

Zermatt has narrow streets, hotels and inns with a relaxed air of history, sports shops, boutiques, jewelry stores and rows and cases of world’s finest watches. One wonderful thing in Zermatt is the food. No matter how big, small, cheap, or expensive the cafe or restaurant we stopped in, the place was spotless. Everything was spic and span clean with flowers at each table. The food was of very high quality and some Swiss wines were at least at par with that of the French. Most lunchtime fare among the natives consisted of soup, salad, sausages and potatoes and of course “Bier” in long thick mugs topped with thick foam.

Unlike the other little towns I knew from earlier visits, Zermatt has a large tourist population year-round, with a good number of young people. You have to be young and agile like a mountain goat to dare climb anything.

People in Switzerland are not only mountain climbers. They also enjoy Alpine Festivals, William Tell plays, yodeling, Swiss wrestling, beer sausages, but they conduct direct democracy with 25 sovereign states and enjoy great diversity from village to village. In some places in Switzerland the language is French as there are places where the language is German. In one Canton around the Italian Alps they speak Italian, too. Not to worry though, most of the Swiss know several languages and quite a few of them are fluent in English.

The winter in Switzerland is a fairy tale, especially at nights. The falling snow flakes blur any other light while they accumulate everywhere, even on steep roofs. Everything is softer, magical, and gentle.

Like the snow blanketing mountains, rocks, boulders, ridges, and crags, maybe people too need to deal and work with hard things, sharp things, puzzling things, to soften the edginess inside themselves, especially when a mountain’s magnetic draw pulls them deeper and deeper, and forces them to create something, anything for a feeling of elation and a pride of accomplishment.

That is why the Swiss women must have created such fine laces and embroidered clothing while their mates took to clock making in Switzerland as they counted time while snowed under. Somebody had to count something in the whitened solitude of the Alpine nights.

Fonts, Images and Colors to Make Your Sports Car Logos Sleek and Stylish

Sports cars are not only a mode of transport but also a status symbol and a factor that distinguishes the middle class from elite. These types of vehicles represent speed, style, luxury and wealth and sports car logos should reflect the same.

If you are trying to create your own high-speed auto company trade mark then you need to use the right fonts, images and colors to make sure that you attract the right kind of clientele.

Below mentioned are a few ideas on the type of fonts, effects and images you should use for the perfect high-speed vehicle corporation logo:

1. What fonts to use:

Fonts that should be used for auto corporation brand marks should be straight and easily readable. Straight fonts represent professionalism and proficiency while curvy fonts represent illusions and dreams and are mostly associated with the female gender. Since speedy cars are basically created to be a man’s toy, the font styles used should be a representation of strength, ability and masculinity. Some font styles that are appropriate for fast cars are Biondi, Copperplate and Verdana.

2. What images to use:

An idea that never seems to fail is the use of animal attributes to represent the auto manufacturing corporation features. You can use strong and sleek animals like the big cats, hawks or bulls to represent the company.
Remember, the animal that should be used to represent your business should be intimidating, stylish and powerful like the sports vehicles that they will represent. You can use these animal images in a circle or diamond shapes encircling it but make sure that your design consists of smooth lines and an overall aerodynamic shape to associate with the shapes of the high speed automobile.

3. What colors to use:

High speed vehicles are usually toys for men so obviously colors like pink and purple would not only decrease sales but also make it a laughing stalk. Almost all car logos that are successful have used black, red, silver and blue colors in their designs. Black is usually known to represent sophistication. Red is a color of energy and enthusiasm much like those fast automobiles. Silver represents justice and purity with a touch of illusion and imagination while blue represents trust worthiness and dependability. Your vehicle business logo should not have more than two central colors with only a minimal touch of more colorful tones if you want to make the design eye catching.

Hence, you may be using the right fonts, colors and images for your trademark design but the first rule to remember here is to keep simplicity as the main theme of the design. The simpler the design is, the easier it is to remember for the customers.

Beginner’s Guide to Coaching Youth Cheer

It can be a wonderful experience to coach youth cheer but you need to be sure you know how to do so successfully. As a coach, you are also a role model. In addition to teaching the children the fundamentals of cheer, you are also teaching team spirit, cohesiveness and kindness. A cheerleader should be someone that others want to be around. They should make you smile and want to cheer. A grumpy cheer coach won’t even be able to instill that in her own squad, much less to the visitors and spectators.

Here are some beginner tips to coaching youth cheer:

Know the Fundamentals Yourself

Use the Internet to find programs that will help teach you what you need to know to be a great youth cheer coach and learn how to do the cheers yourself. You can use videos to help you learn how to do the moves correctly. Mastering the moves yourself will make it easier to teach them to your squad.

Before you allow your cheer team to do any drills, do warm-ups for both their arms and legs. Pushups are good for working the arms and exercises like squats, crunches, straddle-ups and lunges are great for the legs. When performing jumping drills, music can help the squad stay in sync. Counting aloud and calling out the moves can also help.

Make sure everyone on the team has proper training. They should know what position they should be in, what moves to do and how to do them correctly. All spotters should receive proper training as well to reduce the risk of injuries.

Complete Certification Programs

Everyone must be certified before coaching youth cheer and different states may have a different set of requirements. There are certification programs available to help you get the training you need to be certified. However, the state may still require additional training before you can be certified depending on which state you live in.

It is also a good idea and may be a requirement of your state to receive training in first aid before you become a youth cheer coach.

These tips will get you started on the basics but to be a great cheer coach, you should always be learning and growing, right along with your squad. So don’t stop here; keep studying, learning and growing as a coach.

London 2012 Olympics: Taiwan – Report An Olympic Land: 1960-2012

The Power of the X Chromosome: Chi Cheng

If 1968 was the year that put Taiwan back on the sporting map, Chi Cheng was the face that place it there. In that Olympian year, she was one of the world’s three top hurdles by earning bronze in the women’s 80-meter hurdles during the track-and-field competition in the Mexican metropolis –staged at 7,349 feet above sea level. The event was dominated by Eastern Europe and the States.

After securing her country’s second Olympian medal and becoming the first Asian woman in history to accomplish that feat, she gained a special status in her homeland and her name was immortalized on national stamps by the island’s rule. Indeed, it was an important success for the small nation that had not won a medal since 1960. Women’s sport was relatively rare among Asian states during this period (with the exception of Japan).

Over a sporting career that spanned more than seven years, she won a number of international medals inside and outside Taiwan and her “biggest fans” were boys and girls in those wonderful years. From the beginning, she easily broken the national records.

Due to her perseverance, discipline, talent, and patriotism, this California-based sprinter received high praises from internationasl experts and Olympian journalists. By 1971,they crowned Chi Cheng as the “Best Athlete of the world” (surpassing Edson do Nascimento, the top-class footballer from Brazil).

Unequivocally, Chi Cheng was one of the two most popular women on the island, alongside former First Lady Soong May-ling (or Madame Chiang-Kai-shek), an American-oriented woman who had won important financial aid to her country during the early decades of the Cold War.

In Asia, Africa, Latin America, only 15 countries have had world record holders— among them China, Cuba, Brazil, Ethiopia, Haiti, Kenya, Iran, Mexico, Panama, South Africa, South Korea, Tanzania, Uganda, and Taiwan. On July 12, 1970, Chi Cheng, a born-hurdler, confirmed her international stature by breaking the women’s 200-meter record in the Federal Republic of Germany, with a time of 22.44 seconds, becoming the first sprinter from Asia to do so (up to now) and reviving flashes of Taiwanese’s brilliant past.

Throughouther his athletic career, this track star produced six national/continental records in different events at home and abroad. Incredibly, she set four international records in the space of 17 days -No other sportswoman from that continent had ever established 4 regional marks in less than three weeks. On July 12, 1970, she enhanced her growing fame when she had a new Asian record of 12.93 seconds in the women’s 100m hurdles, becoming one of the Planet’s top hurdlers at that year. In the same day, she generated a new mark in the 200 meter-dash. Less than a week after, by Jul. 18, Chi Cheng followed that with other historic record in the 100 meter-dash with a time of 11.22 seconds (which still unbroken). Nearly two weeks after, by the end of July, she caused a plash by establishing another record in the 400m race with a mark of 52.56 seconds. Besides all that, the world record holder also had regional marks in the long jump and 80m hurdles. On the other side, she also was part of the country’s 4×100-meter team.

By the end of 1972, the nation’s second greatest athlete was the highest hope for a medal in the Games of the 20th Olympiad in Munich ( Federal Republic of Germany). Chi Cheng had been named as one of the members of the country’s Olympic national team. Soon afterwards, she, however, did not take part in West Germany. Around this time, the world record holder announced her retirement from sports after some injuries. For a brief time afterward, by 1975, in the International Year of the Woman, Chi Cheng was widely regarded as one of the world’s most prominent sportswomen, alongside Martina Navratilova, Liudmila Tourischeva, Shane Gould and other world-class champs.

Dark Horses

After Chi Cheng’s Olympian experience on the Latin American continent, the Asian republic has produced high-profile Hollywood figures such as Ang Lee and Tsai Ming-liang, or Nobel Prizes as Lee Yuan-tseh and Daniel C. Tsui, but it can not produce world titles and global records in spite of being one of the most …

The Case for Flag Football As an Olympic Sport

The Olympics are unlike any other sporting competition on the planet. For 16 days, over 300 events representing 35 sports and every country on the planet compete to take home their prized medals, and I have looked forward to watching the Summer Olympics every 4 years since as far back as I can remember. But there's always been something missing. One of the United States most popular sports, and a top 10 sport through the world, it looks as though tackle and flag football could be Olympic sports by the year 2024, but issue obstacles still remain for that to become a reality. First we'll walk through some reasons why the road to getting American Football included into the Olympics has not been an easy journey, followed by why we believe flag football to be the logical solution and choice as a future Olympic sport.

WHY IS NOT AMERICAN FOOTBALL ALREADY AN OLYMPIC SPORT?
According to an article by NFL.com, the biggest logistic problems facing the sport of American Football being included in the Olympics are very similar to that of Rugby. With the large numbers of participants on each team, the "gender equality" formats where both men and women participate in every sport, and the compressed 3 week schedule that would have been tougher with a more physical game like football and rugby. Furthermore for American Football, the barrier to entry is high due to it's cost to equip all players with pads and gear, and therefor has also been slow to adopt in many foreign countries, especially of the poorer variety.

Knowing all this, it's hard to see how either sport would be a good fit for the Summer Olympics. Rugby is a lot like Soccer in that very little is needed to play the sport in terms of gear and practice at it's base level, and has a much larger international following. This among other reasons has recently allowed Rugby to be cleared for the Olympics starting in 2016 by changing the traditional style to a less traditional "sevens" format which is faster paced with less people, which could help carve a similar path for American Football, or flag football more specifically.

TACKLE SAFETY CONCERNS
Even more and more high school, college and pro teams are starting to reduce the number of contact practices, still sporting the likes of soft-padded headgear and shoulder pads for added protection. But what if we could limit the contact players see before high school and middle school while also addressing some of the concerns for the sport related to it being fully accepted into the Olympics? and not just in the NFL where discussions are a major concern. Starting as far back as the youth football level, recent evidence has surfaced supporting the idea that even short of a concussion, repeated head impacts and collision can manifest in similar brain injuries later in life for kids tested between the ages of 8-13. Many researchers are suggesting kids should not be playing football at all, suggesting that kids 'heads are "a larger part of their body, and their necks are not as strong as adults' necks. and brain injuries than adults. "

DREW BREES BELIEVES FLAG FOOTBALL CAN SAVE FOOTBALL
As of 2015, studies show that flag football is the fastest growing youth sport in the United States, great outpacing the growth of traditional tackle football. Many individual high schools are making the switch to flag football over tackle, getting other schools in their regions to follow suit creating organized leagues and divisions. It's even an officially recognized varsity sport in many states, and with women especially flag football is a way to allow easier participation versus the physical nature of tackle. And it's not the only one. Recently Drew Brees was interviewed by Peter King for NBC's pregame show and had some strong words on why he believes flag football is the answer. "I feel like flag football can save football," Brees said. Brees coaches his son's flag football team, and played flag football himself through junior high, never playing tackle football until high school. "I feel like (flag football) is a great introductory method for a lot of kids into football," …

What Are the Key Elements in a Sports Website?

Designing a sports website is no cakewalk and highly experienced web designers should be employed for the process. Sports lovers are more inclined towards and updated and carefully managed website rather than the one with age old news and ineffective design. In the exciting world of sports, everything can change within a second. This fact is more experienced and acknowledged by football lovers who knows that anything can happen in any moment. That is why your sports site should essentially meet the following criteria:

– Mobile responsiveness is must- A mobile responsive design is absolutely indispensable to any sports related website. As it is Google have announced its preference for mobile-friendly sites and designers all over the world are working hard to comply with this. But only being mobile friendly will not do for your sports site. It should be jet fast in loading speed irrespective of the kind of device that is being used. This will enable users to pick up relevant information like live scores and sports stats as, when and wherever they please.

– Using a multitude of font colors is a big no-no – Yes, some sports websites I have come across try to make their content attractive by using a myriad of font colors and styles but this is a huge mistake on the part of the designers. You should make your content readable with relaxed eyes. Why the users have to strain their eyes to read your content? They will automatically leave your site and go to your competitors’ sites for a clearer and more comprehensive display. Hence, it is unwise to use multiple font colors on your sports website. Dark fonts on a lighter background is the best way you can present your sports content.

– Completely updated content- Yes, this is the most essential quality that your audience are going to rank you on. They will see whether you are the first one among your peers to update the live scores or push old content lower on your web pages, thus making space for fresh ones. Maintaining a sports website requires immense skills and you have to prove your worth and keep up the good performance consistently. Hence, make sure you have proper resources before you plunge into it. If you don’t then it is better to ask for it instead of suffering later.

– Easy navigation- Navigation is a crucial element of any kind of webs design and sports websites are no exception to this rule.on the contrary, they need to employ top-of-the-market strategies to enhance user experience. If the users cannot find what they are looking for, they won’t even take a microsecond (of course depending on the speed of broadband) to bounce off. Make everything easily available to them. Try and save their time as much as possible. Come on. They have a live match to catch.

The above mentioned features are some of the basic requirements of a sports website. There are other areas that calls your attention as well like the installation of attractive sports widgets showing live scores and football data, mini videos showing live matches, text commentaries and live sports stats if possible.

These are some of the key elements that can help your website to stand out from the rest. Everything depends on how you are ready for your visitors to have an enhanced experience on your site. Be it content, widgets or live commentaries, you should make sure your website has all the tools ready to bind even the most causal visitors. Football lovers are crazy people. They prefer everything perfectly arranged and well organized. It is wise to keep in mind that many of are missing on a live match for work or other personal/professional reasons. Your website should be able to compensate for it. Otherwise there is no point investing in something that may not get you the results you deserve.

Sports Psychology: For Athletes to Deal With Stress on Competitive Day – Preparation

We are often driven by an athlete’s peak performance, admire the way they sometimes manage to pull things off and make us proud. More often than not, these athletes are even labelled as ‘role models’, ‘heroes’ and even ‘gods’, but we tend to forget that they are human beings just like us. They have their ups and downs; they may get upset and blow off a game and fail to impress us.

The difference between a top athlete and a ‘mere’ athlete is the determination, ambition, and the spirit they put into the game on competition day preparation. A good athlete may easily fail and blow the game if he or she fails to take into account one of the mechanisms that keeps him or her in the ‘zone’ and playing in the zone.

According to a study quoted by Sports Injury Bulletin, coaches often attempt to inspire fear in their athletes on competitive day preparation. Such attitudes tend to jeopardize the performance of the athlete and produce stress. Psychological research reveals that 90% of sports injuries in games are stress-related.

Frustration, anxiety, and distraction are the main key factors that prevent an athlete from producing the best performance.

In recent years, successful athletes have proved that for peak performance, the athlete needs to evolve tactical psychological operations techniques. These psychological tactics include, being relaxed, being self-possessed, staying focused, and having a positive self-image. But, it is not always as easy for athletes to develop these techniques as easily said.

They require the support of a mental diet psychologist and need to constantly integrate and apply the rules of sports psychology if they are eager to maintain peak performance while getting rid of psychological stress.

Sports psychology has indeed proved to be a critical tool for developing the requisite mental toughness athletes need to perform well and be at their best.

Sports psychology helps in:

1. aiding athletes to deal with stress and anxiety before the competition day

2. improving in their learning method and major abilities

3. developing positive self-image and confidence

4. staying focused

5. creating the awareness needed for peak performance

6. dealing with competitive anxieties

It is therefore recommended that an athlete work with a sports psychologist who will help you manage stress and instill in you positive thoughts that will help you enhance your performance.

The Benefits of an Online Sports Management Degree Course

An online sports management degree course is essential for those wishing to make a professional career in sports management, and while you can find employment in that field without a formal qualification, a college or university degree will give you a critical advantage over those without it.

A sports manager provides an essential link between the performance and administrative aspects of sports of all types; not just within the narrow confines of the traditional American sporting events but of international sporting activities worldwide. This is a multi-billion dollar industry, and an online sports management degree course can enable you to find employment within that lucrative field.

Who handles the marketing, finance and management of sportsmen and women, and of the myriad sports centers and fitness clubs the world over? Sports managers! Who handles sports equipment acquisitions, recreation problems and the needs of sporting professionals? Professionally qualified sports managers have the whole sports playing field in front of them, offering a wide variety of lucrative and interesting employment opportunities in general sports or focusing on individual disciplines.

The two most important aspects of any employment are income and enjoyment of the job. If you are sports-oriented then enjoyment will be a given, and your compensation for your work will be largely influenced by how qualified you are: basically, the greater the number of people available to do your job then the less you will earn.

That is one of the major benefits of an online sports management degree course: it will set you above the majority in terms of your training and your abilities. However, why online? Why not attend a physical college as many others do? What are the benefits of an online degree course in sports management over attending campus?

Convenience is the major benefit, particularly if you have a family or have an existing job. Many young men and women with a young family want to enter the field of sports management, but their commitment to their children preclude them from getting the teaching that they need to achieve their ambition. Others are already working, often within the sporting arena, and want to better themselves.

Neither of these is able to attend full time college or university, and online courses are ideal for them. Perhaps you are a carer, and want to get a good qualification on sports management for when you can relax your caring duties, or you might be an amateur or even a professional sportsperson yourself, and are seeking a sports management qualification so that can use your degree and experience to continue in employment once your active sporting career is over. In these cases too, your commitments will render it impossible for you to attend full time college classes.

There are other reasons for people opting for an online sports management degree course, but you might be wondering whether or not you will receive the same high standard of teaching online. Yes, you will! University degrees of all kinds are available online, and internet students get exactly the same courses as campus students, and sit exactly the same examinations.

In fact, in some ways, your teaching is more intense because you have online access to your tutors, and also the convenience on focusing on your lessons at times convenient to you – there is no need to attend class when you feel ill or when you have other things on your mind such as a sick child or a leaking boiler. You can choose your own times, and cover as much course work during any session as you can manage. You can stop for a coffee, your favorite TV program or just continue working – whichever you feel is best for you. And don’t forget the traffic: no rush-hour driving to get to college for 9 am.

You will be given your examination times, and may have to attend college for these in some cases, but yours will be no easier or more difficult than any campus student: they will be the same, and you will assessed on your merits just the same as any other college or university student.

Some online students worry that their sports management degrees might be regarded as less …
